LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- Michael Jackson's three children made a rare public appearance Monday.

Prince, 14, Paris, 13, and Blanket, 9, along with their grandmother Katherine Jackson, helped dedicate some Michael Jackson artwork at Children's Hospital Los Angeles.

Ten pieces of artwork created and signed by the pop star were donated. Each piece of drawing reflected his love of chairs, keys and the number seven. He was the seventh child in the Jackson family. The gift was made at a special ceremony at the hospital.

The singer's children helped unveil the artwork. They also placed their signatures underneath their father's signatures on some of the pieces.

Michael Jackson's sister, La Toya, said the artwork will make people happy.

"They're whimsical, they're magical and it's just joy and peace. I know that when you see this, and when the kids see it, it will bring some type of joy to them, and at the same time, I know it will bring some type of joy to my brother as well," said La Toya Jackson.

The artwork is a personal collection of Brett-Livingstone Strong, an artist and close personal friend of Michael Jackson and his family.

"This is Michael's art and he created this over a 25-year period. This is just 10 of his works of art," said Strong.

Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa attended the ceremony. Children's Hospital Trustee Mary Hart and her husband, Burt Sugarman, arranged the gift.

"To have the Jackson family here, to show a side of Michael Jackson here at the Children's Hospital that the world is totally unfamiliar with, is incredibly exciting," said Hart.

Michael Jackson's family said he would be thrilled with this special gift to Children's Hospital, given his love for children.

"I know that Michael wouldn't want his art in a better place than a hospital like this that would help children and people everywhere," said La Toya Jackson.

Hospital officials said that the artwork will hang throughout the new Children's Hospital in Los Angeles.

Michael Jacksons Kinder Prince, Paris und Blanket enthüllten am Montag (8. August) in einer feierlichen Zeremonie insgesamt zehn Bilder aus der privaten Sammlung des Jackson-Freundes Brett-Livingstone Strong. Die Werke hatte ihr Vater Michael Jackson noch zu Lebzeiten selbst gemalt und wurden nun einem Kinderkrankenhaus in Los Angeles überreicht.

"Sie sind skurril, sie sind magisch und sie bringen nur Freude und Frieden", sagte LaToya Jackson, die Schwester des verstorbenen Sängers, laut "abc.com" in ihrer Ansprache. Auch Michael Jackson würde seine Bilder sicher gerne in dem Krankenhaus sehen. "Ich weiß, dass Michael seine Kunst an keinem besseren Ort als in diesem Krankenhaus haben wollte, in dem Kindern und Erwachsenen überall geholfen wird", so LaToya weiter. Die Kunstwerke zeigen unter anderem Stühle, Schlüssel, "Disneys" Mickey Maus und die Nummer Sieben - eine Anspielung auf die Tatsache, dass Michael Jackson das siebte Kind der Familie war.

Die von Michael Jackson signierten Zeichnungen nahm die Krankenhausverwalterin Mary Hart dankbar an und freute sich besonders über die Anwesenheit der ganzen Familie. Außer Michael Jacksons Kindern, die sich sonst nur selten in der Öffentlichkeit zeigen, und deren Tante LaToya, war auch deren Großmutter Katherine bei der Enthüllung dabei. "Die Jackson-Familie hier zu haben, eine Seite von Michael Jackson zu zeigen, die der Welt total unbekannt ist, das ist unglaublich aufregend", so Hart.
